Heh funny you mention that, but that's in progress.

We've already established this as a working function which I do not doubt one bit. By continuing to call this a VDIM disable is truely false as VDIM controls other safety functions mentioned above for the new GS430, IS350, RX400h, Highlander Hybrid just to name a few. I think alot of people have no idea what VDIM really is as they confuse VDIM with TRAC and VSC over and over, time and time again. BTW, you can spin the tires and lay some nice rubber tracks on the ground with just TRAC OFF (from the dash button next to the ECT PWR switch) but as the wheel speed gets to 35 mph, the computer will re-enable TRAC (retard engine power and actuate ABS) as it was designed to do. When i find time, i will render that part of the video and load it for everyone to see.
and what other functions does VDIM control? What other functions are still working?
You dont really know, you are just assuming. :-). I very much doubt VDIM interveens anymore or does anything at all with its two major components disabled.

Look up a few pages/posts and you will see what i've mentioned that VDIM controls. If "assuming" is learning this directly from the Lexus College trainers (the same technical trainers that teach the Lexus techs and sales consultants the product) then so be it. Obviously they are not going to tell us how VDIM would be totally disabled because of legal issues, but what they have told us in our presentation of it's function is very logical.

BTW, what does VDIM matter to people to those who have never experienced it or really know how it works? Seems like the people who don't have the car or have no intentions of buying it are the ones who seem to be all torn up about having a non exisitent VDIM control in the first place.

After 30 minutes of research... I can only find a way to turn off VSC//TRAC. There is no "VDIM OFF" mode. The VSC/TRAC OFF was designed for (as someone stated multiple times) chassis dynoing. The EBD is only disabled if the ABS system is malfunctioning. It's surprisingly busy at work today... so I'll read up the rest of the repair manual later and post up what systems are disabled and when.

An the only way to disable other systems on command is using the "GAME GENIE" hahahaha... (test tool)

No because the IS250 does not have VDIM only the IS350 and GS430 do.

However, VSC and TRAC are also standard on the IS250, so yes you should be able to disable VSC and TRAC simultaneously the same way.

Have any 250 owners tested this yet? Or is there a trac button on the 250's that when pushed would disable both trac and VSC?

All IS250 RWD and IS350s have a TRAC OFF switch next to the ECT PWR button on the 6spd AT models. VSC has no OFF button on newer Lexus models like the New IS. The VSC defeat is exactly what this method is originally talking about with the brake pedal sequence. IS250 AWD does not have a TRAC OFF switch.

THx! Does the TRAC button in the 250Rwd actually keep TRAC off past 30mph?

Also, if anyone has tried the parking brake, foot brake sequence in a 250 to turn off VSC and Trac, I'd be curious to know whether it worked.

TRAC OFF should automatically reactivate above 30mph as a default.

i beg to differ - both trc and vsc off switches before used to work up to certain level - they would simply move the treshold to much, much higher level, but they were not turned off completly.

Even today, can you do an real burnout with trc off, or does it re-activate due to simply too much wheelspin? (and below 30-35 mph).

Keep in mind that main reason for trc off switch is to be able to move car in snow when trc would simply make it impossible...
