Default C230 6speed vs IS 250

I drove the IS 250 automatic and immediately went to my benz dealer and drove the C230 2006 6 speed sport. In my opinion, even though the published specs are almost identical, the benz has more torque and feels a lot more like a drivers car than the automatic IS 250. Has anyone done a comparison of the two vehicles? Has anyone driven the six speed IS and compared it to the benz?

addendum:
My emotional and irrational side finds itself attracted to the IS's beauty and technology but the minute I drove the benz I began to doubt myself. I am honestly looking for objective and rational feedback. The tactile feel and and feedback from the benz on the road was just superior. Does this have to do with the sport package and the six speed or is the lexus just this way?

The new 230 is a N/A V6 with 201 hp/181 lb-ft of torque. Even though it has less torque than the 250, it is available between 2,700-5,000 rpm. That's probably why it feels more powerful, just my guess!

he's right, the midrange torque matters. but if you want the "faster" car or the "quicker" car, most of the time, it doesn't correlate exactly with how FAST the car FEELS.

Case in point: the S2000 feels slow as a rock, even when you're pushing it. But line it up next to a Camaro SS and it'll give it a run for its money, even though the SS seems worlds faster when you're sitting inside it. Its the torque,
