Nice run. That is quite close to the Car and Driver numbers. On the timeslip, why does it say win on the right hand side car even though it has a 14.6 secs or something?? What car was running in the right lane??

That's a great run. I can't say I'm surprised. The car builds power very nicely all the way to redline. Was your run completely stock even down to the tires? Your sixty foot time is excellent for a stock car.

Trap speed depends a lot on how you launch. What you are forgetting is that all of those other cars you mentioned have manual transmissions while IS350 is auto. The only way to launch an auto is to power brake and you cannot launch at high rpms using power braking like a manual can be launched. Nonetheless, Car and Driver trapped it around 105 mph with 13.7@105mph. That is a full 7 mph higher than the timeslip above. Looking at the trap speed difference, if the IS can trap only at 98 mph and still break into the 13s, I give it mad props for such a broad powerband. I can claim that this car is capable of even running a few tenths faster. Maybe, someone even can squeeze 13.5 out of it. It is safe to conclude that it is quicker than 350z, G35 and a number of Evo models by a comfortable margin.

When we start seeing people powershift the paddles odds are the trap will go up. I'd say 13.7 @ 102 will be pretty standard. The 60 time is a little weak but again that's the launch. For the record my G35 is modded and my best time is 13.7 @ 104 - looks like the IS350 will do that stock. I'm not sure it will have the leeway of some other N/A cars due to it's already high compression ratio, but we'll see.

C&D and all car magazines for that matter post corrected numbers adjusting for a variety of elements that affect performance. Corrected numbers are typically better than actual.
Based on the gearing, horsepower, and weight of the new IS, I don't think anyone is going to trap at 105 mph. A manual transmission would help reduce 60 ft. times. You would be able to a launch in the powerband and use some sticky tires to control wheelspin. Rule of thumb is about every tenth reduced in the 60ft, equates to two tenths in the quarter mile.

Few questions about your times...
1. Did you use shift through or just leave it on auto?
2. Was the track well prepped?
3. Did you brake launch?
4. Was traction control disabled via the brake trick?
5. Did you heat the tires up at all?
Thanks, and congrats on the times.
