Default AWD vs. RWD - Also Pics of My New Car

Has anyone driven the IS 250 AWD and the IS 250 RWD?.....If so, how much slower does the AWD feel compared to the RWD?......According to Lexus, 0-60 in the AWD is 8.3 and 7.9 in the RWD........I was just wondering if there is a noticeable difference or if there is a slight difference. Thanks.

By the way i got a Black on Black IS 250 AWD on Thurs. Dec. 1!!! Didn't want to get AWD since there is no need here in O.C., California, but they were giving me a good discount on it since no one was buying AWD's and they just wanted to remove it from there lot so we got it. We were actually gonna leave coz they didnt have wat i wanted but they gave in and gave me a good discount. They gave it for me for a little bit less than the price of an IS 250 RWD about $3000 off MSRP!

I have test driven both and there is a little noticable difference. But again the only way any normal driver would notice the difference if they were driving both the awd and the rwd everyday.

Do you plan on tinting the windows? Im very curious to see what the black looks like with the windows tinted, since Im debating between black and blue onyx myself.

Nice pictures and car Phillip31. I have not driven AWD yet b/c I'm not planning to get an AWD (same reason like yours.. no need for it in Hawaii). I initially wanted 18" wheels for my RWD, but by looking at your pictures and others', I'm starting to like the 17" wheels!!!!

Yay.. someone else from Tustin Lexus.. who was your salesman? I got my IS350 through them with David V. I was there this weekend.. They have about 5 IS250's (3 silver / 1 red / 1 blk) and one Sage IS350 on the lot, and one or two IS250's in the showroom. I don't think any of them had nav's and I was told that the IS250's were manual's only but I'm not sure.

Congrats on your purchase. I got the tint on mine this weekend. Any idea who you are getting your tint done by? I have the name of the guy who does all of Tustin Lexus if you want. His quote was $195, but mb you can get a better deal by saying i recommended him. Lemme know if you want me to call him. Enjoy your new car. Maybe I'll see you around on the road.. just look for a Blue Onyx IS350 around Irvine.

i test drove both of it
in MT RWD / AT AWD
AT AWD is super slow throtle response is way too slow
MT RWD you can feel the power of the car , suspension also feel a bit different ( MT seem bit harder)

Default Steering feedback on the AWD is better than RWD

Maybe its because of the increased weight of the AWD setup, but I felt that the AWD car inspired more driver confidence due to increased steering feedback and a little more steering weight. Basically, the 250AWD felt more like a 330i sport package car to me (which is a good thing). The IS350/250RWD steering feels more light/numb.

The AWD did feel a little slower than the RWD though, but not by much.

My salesman was Kevin Kim. He was new and wanted to sell me a car really bad because he wanted his FIRST sale! I was gonna get tint at some local shop in Mission Viejo because we've been goin to them for awhile now, but if you got urs for $195 at Tustin Lexus then i might as well go there. Was that for all windows? Ya that would be great if you can. What was his name and a number i can contact him with? Alright i'll be on a look out for a Blue Onyx.

Thanks everyone for the responses!

Its a bit slower but your car probably handles better, just like all Audis are all wheel drive no matter where you live but they handle great.

what kind of packages did you get w/ the car? navi? from the pics, it looks like you got one w/ HIDs. Those are hard to find here in So Cal for the 250.
