Default Questions about pricing

I live in Queens, NY. I recently visited Lexus of Manhattan to inquire about IS250 RWD with premium package and parking assistance. I was given a full MSRP price. Do you believe I should negotiate or go to another dealer? What is your take on current MSRP pricing?

Thanks!

I joined CL in October and ever since the release everyone is talking about the MSRP and negotiating. From what I have read so far it depends on many factors: car (AWD vs RWD, 250 vs 350) options, availability (on the lot, transfer from within the region, or special order), dealership/salesman, etc... You will hear about people that are getting a good chunck of change taken off of the MSRP and then you will hear about people that are getting absolutely nowhere with their negotiations. I personally paid $34k for my AWD with navigation (MSRP I believe is $37,425), but I know of another guy that wants the exact same car as I got and they are not dropping the MSRP at all. So, my suggestion would be try to negotiate, if they do not offer what you want shop around and try again at a different dealership. If that fails you might just have to wait until later when dealerships are more willing to discount (such as end of the month and after the holiday season).

I e-mailed Rallye Lexus in Glen Clove, NY last week and I was quoted $1500 off of MSRP if I ordered an IS250 AWD.

Would you pay a full MSRP price of $33,734 for IS250RWD with premium package, intuitive parking system, mats etc. in NYC? What is your opinion?

Thanks!

Correct me if I am wrong (it is often the case), but I think you might need to get navigation to add on the intuitive parking system...does that price include premium package, Intuitive parking system, and navigation? I do not particularly want the parking system for $500 but that is my opinion. I would personally wait to get a discount off of the MSRP. Do i think the car is worth the MSRP? it definately is....but doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to save some cash with a discount. It is hard to give you an opinion on this because it is after all your choice. Do not let a board convince you to buy or not to buy a car at a certain price with certain opinions. Everyone has their own prefrences (as frivolous as they sometimes can be) and everyone has different financial abilities. Only you can decide these questions.

PA is a $500 standalone option. Nav not required.
