either or. ur just harder on ur enigine and trans if u use the paddel shifter

in general keep the rpm above 1500 while moving (slower is ok for decel or stationary)--just like a manual. There is no right or wrong--just a personal preference. If you don't already know that, just leave it in D, the tranny is pretty smart.
