Default Any discount on special orders?

I'm seeing all kinds of info from around the country. Discounts on inventory but not on special orders, MSRP only on orders, $1,500 and more off on orders, etc.

Just trying to make sure I don't get boned. (dealer is Johnson/Raleigh, NC)

Default discounts

I was offered $1000 off MSRP on a special order. This is one dealer out of 5 dealers I contacted that's willing to negotiate. The other four want MSRP. For an IS350 w/NAV on the lot, the discount is from $1500 - 2200 here in SoCal.

Seems like the Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte, NC dealer is not willing to deal much at all yet. I did call around some and the only one I found that would really come down was Wilde Lexus of Sarasota, FL. Still debating if it is worth to order from them to save over 2-3k and ship or fly down and drive it back. Finally drove the IS250MT and I liked it quite a bit.

Yeap, same with Flow Lexus in Kernersville, they want sticker, I talked to my salesperson yesterday to see if they are willing to make deals on the IS and they said Nope, they are moving them off the lot pretty quickly, so I'm in a holding pattern. I'm not going to pay $32K for a car that invoices for $27,800, dealerships are making a killing! I'm going to wait till this spring!

I special ordered a IS350 Sport BLK/BLK/ML/NAV/HW from Lexus of Portland on 12/14 dealer said 3-4 Months. Dealer called back next day said I could get my car in late January or early feb, but without the H/W. I said awesome doit. The factory was all ready building IS350 sports with the Mark Levinson/nav system I was lucky. In Oregon first 350 sports arrivals with ML. They will go fast. Talk them down 1,700 they matched a dealers price in Eugene Oregon go DUCKS! Hope this will help you.

I special ordered from Johnson. No discount on the 350's. They have some 250's they may deal on.
They treated me right on the trade and the people were nice.

Thanks, ya'll.

Friends who have bought from Johnson in Raleigh say they are usually an MSRP store. If you're a repeat customer they may give you 1 to 1.5 K off on something on the lot. I'll see if I can at least get some oil changes or all-weather floormats or some such.

I've talked to them about an IS350 and they're discounting in the 1,500 range now. Charlotte's doing about 2,000 off, and Colorado is doing 4,000 off... Johnson doesn't seem to want to deal much.

Charlotte has really dropped, then. When I last talked to them about a month ago, they said the max. discount was $500 off MSRP for someting on the lot.

Slightly OT, for those of you with 2IS's in NC, please consider coming to our Memorial Day meet in the mountains to the 5th annual Tail of the Dragon meet. Click on the link in my signature or www.lexusdragon.com .... truly the most amazing road I've ever driven (318 curves in 11 miles).
