Things that bug you about the IS 250/350
After 1000kms with my new IS I am overall thrilled with it. They managed to keep the sheer driving fun of the IS300, yet add an element of luxury the previous model was lacking...
However, after a little time with the car there are a few things that annoy me
1) The inability to close the armrest lid with a cell phone charger in place (particularly given that EVERY cell charger is diferent)
2) Every single button is illuminated EXCEPT the trunk and fuel door buttons
3) The SmartKey does not activate the puddle lamps and interior lamps to their fullest intensity until I am seated in the car (I suppose my feet would already have been submerged in the puddle by now)

The trunk/fuel door openers and seat memory buttons are not lit in other Lexuses, either--apparently Lexus deems it unnecessary, and maybe even confusing. I can't disagree.
Agree the puddle lamps and interior lights fade in too slowly. I guess I can always unlock the door earlier/further away with the remote.
I think the adjustment wheels for the seat heater are a bit far, and maybe easier to use if they are north-south instead of east-west.
I wish the auto smog sensor in IS350 would stay in auto after the engine is shut off and turned back on.

1) Adaptor or no adaptor it is still a design flaw IMHO
2) The illuminated buttons just confuse me, I can see where the vent position is (although it isn't in context to being on and off) which I touch maybe once a month vs. the trunk and fuel button I use every day...

I wish that the auto dimmer for the rear view would remember your setting (auto or off).
I have the same problem in my LS400...with limo tinted rear windows the dimmer is unneccesary and makes it hard to tell what type of car is behind you, especially when you're watching out for cops.
Amber lights on the back. The IS would look a lot cleaner, newer, and overall better if the amber lights in the back were red.

Screen Default settings
I only really got an issue with the NAVI screen always returning to the MAP display after makin a Phone call or putting the car from park to drvie or vice versa. Like if Im on audio and I put it into park and than into drive itll automatcally go back to MAP screen.. or if Im in climate screen and I get a phone call, after the phone call it'll go to the MAP screen again, really annoys me. And yes I turned off the feature where the screen automatically returns to MAP display after a certain time.
Also that the trunk has no springs to pop up when you open it, isnt the greatest on sharp turns almost ran into on-coming traffic taking a turn that my CLK had no issues with. And last but not least there is a wierd sound when I close my trunk, but I think thats just a problem that my car could only have.

Non-standard HID ...........................................................
Car is heavy - although when driving it, feels rather light... btw how heavy is the 250 awd?
Non-standard HID ...........................................................
Have to really slam on the aluminum hood for it to close
No hand pulling e-brake
Non-standard HID ...........................................................
Amber on the rear taillights

Has anyone driven there's in a heavy rain storm? All of the water on front windshield nicely flows to the side windows which makes it almost impossible to see out the side or use the side mirrors. Apparently the channels on the front window aren't large enough to move the water over the top of the car.

My cell phone charger actually fits just fine plugged into the outlet in the armrest. It is a motorola charger and the end of it is at an angle. Yeah the no HID's stock does suck!!! But that can be fixed for $300.
