The start button on the 330i is definitely a gimmick.
The new 3 series has an available feature where you don't have to put the key in the dash, it's called "comfort access". It's a $500 option, and from what I've seen perusing dealer lots, doesn't seem terribly popular, at least not on cars ordered for stock.

The rain sensing wipers are a nice touch, speeding up and slowing down depending on road speed and amount of moisture. This is also one of the easiest cars to wash and wax,...no sharp bends.

Love the interior materials especially the way the steering wheel feels. I also like the little protrusions along the inner top of the steering wheel, it provides a great grip and feel. The dash has a great flat finish that doesn't reflect onto the window. Just a very classy look and feel to all the fittings. Love it. Haven't checked out the rain sensing wipers yet; it hasn't rained yet.

I'm sure after THIS thread, there's going to be a "10 Things You Know You've Driven Your IS For Too Long".

#10. Your friend is too drunk to drive so you offer to drive him/her and the BMW home only to find there's no button to start the car.

Cheers,
Kermee
BMWs have push button starts too every 06 model has it, except for the 3 series coupes since they are old model

That's because Lexus went the extra mile to engineer a true rolling code frequency transponder into the computer and ignition, whereas the BMW's "push start" is not much more technologically advanced than what a Honda S2000 has had since it came out in 1999 (for those of you who aren't familiar with it, you insert the ignition key, turn it to accessory, and push the start button on the dash. Same principle that the BMW uses, only you have to insert the remote card instead of turning a key)
