Default My IS350s transmission is notchy while braking

I am not sure if this is new or if this is something that I am just noticing.

In Full Auto mode, My IS350 jerks into first when I am braking. Does this happen on everyone elses car? I will probably have to have my car checked out

Its bad while in regular mode, Its worse in Power mode.

No problems with the tranny here (w/ 2000 miles). Please let us know what the dealer says.

Mine will downshift to a lower gear when I brake to help with the braking. I'm not sure if that's what your referring to.

Both my RX330 (5-sp) and IS350 do this, esp. when you feather the throttle (drive gently). I believe it's the way the tranny was designed. The jerky effect lessens when you drive more aggressively.

When i'm in auto mode, I get smooth downshifts. Only when i'm in sport mode and downshifting myself do I feel the "kick". almost 1000 miles.

I agree. When I gently give it gas I can feel the shifts far more than when I lean into it. This engine and tranny want to go fast IMO.

Floor the gas and the car is like, ", we out."

I've never heard the term "notchy" applied to an automatic before. Usually it refers to a manual where the stick is less than pleasant to move from one gear to another.

As to your question, I feel the transmission downshifting as I slow down. And the transmission can be a bit jerky when you suddenly give it gas after coasting in heavy traffic. I'm sure I'll get more smooth as I become accustomed to its quirks.
