Default Ughh..CEL light on

Installed my XenonDepot HID kit today finally. Install went fine but now I have a CEL, and the display says "Check VSC". Any ideas?

Another question, maybe related, not sure. With the ZenonDepot kit one headlight socket is empty (the other used to turn HIDs on), will my CEL light stay on because of this?

well, if the VSC light is on it has nothing to do with the HIDs. unless there is a component of the VSC system next to the headlights. i would try disconnecting the battery to see if it clears out the code. If it returns you might want to take it in for service.

I had the same problem. Make sure that the air intake sensor is plugged in.

This is what I did:

Play with the VSC button while the car is running. Keep pressing and holding it a couple of times. You won't see anything happening. Then proceed to turn off your engine. Retart your engine. The VSC check and engine check light should be gone.

Yeah the CEL is gone. I suspect is was because I disconnected the battery and MAF sensor for the installation and then started the car to check if the lights were OK. I think the CEL stays for several starts even after everything was put back.

When my CEL & Check VSC came on it was because of a rat or squirrel had chewed the wires in half that connect two of my sensors. That really sucked.
