I guess this is where I get messed up since the pic doesn't seem to match the instructions near as I can tell....
Am I right in saying the wires that are on the Navi unit side are cut and not needed any longer. The pink and white wires just tie together. One of the pics looks like a white (navi side) and pink wire (wireloom side) are connected to each other. Maybe it's just the angle of the picture. I'm just concerned about the "jumpy" navigation that some are getting.
After cutting the Pink and White wires, you put a cap on the wires comming from the Navigation unit. You then connect the Pink (wireloom side) and White (wireloom side) wires together.

I cut the red wire, and grounded it to my NAV unit, but my DVDs won't play now. I have no idea what I did wrong. I capped the red wire that comes out of J50.
Now, my DVD video won't play even when I'm parked with the e-brake on, i can hear everything still. I hope i'm not f!@$ed.

Crazy Navigation
This is crazy in the first place. Why can't the passenger at least use the navigation while the car is going? If you are on a trip it is unbelievable that you have to stop to allow adustments to where you want to stay. It renders the tool almost useless. The airbag senses when there is a passenger seated so why can't the navigation? The interesting thing is that Honda and Acura do NOT have this stupid thing in play.

The factory behavior of the NAV system might be annoying, but since there is a way around it (as posted in this thread), it's a non-issue.
Those people desiring specific NAV based functionality will need to weigh whether or not this mod is appropriate for them. (Benefit vs Risk/Liability).
