Every time you start the car. Also, it won't work if you have an '07 or if you have an updated disc in your '06.

ok quick question... I have the ML nav... did everything exactly as shown. I can now watch DVD's while driving, but when I go to input a destination address while driving everything fades gray and won't let me input anything. this happened to anyone else???? Weird the DVD works while in motion but no address input... HELP!!!

 

This hack is not for inputing destinations when driving... thats a different one.

 

Umm, I didn't see anything in the wiring that indicates that this would unlock the DVD region code! I think the Chinese DVD's you tested are region free :-\
Most of my DVD's are region1 (from Amazon) and my car's player is region2 :-(
Can someone test this and reply back, please?

I have done this "mod"
For now there is a big problem for me
When headlight is in "auto" mode - every time when I'm switching off the engine - headlights and backlights are staying "on" )

This is really a problem for me
Even after returning everything back - the problem is not gone
I have checked every connector in the dash many times - nothing help.

Please, may be someone give me an advise? It is very costly to go to the official service centre in UK

 

Has anyone done this on RX330 yet? Not sure how to take Nav unit out...

After switching off the engine the lights usually stay on for 30 seconds. This option is normal but can be turned off. The navi mod itself should not affect the lights; especially since you put everything back together.

 

okay try togglin the "DOOR" switch near the dome light. the other day i was playing around with that button and when i locked my car pressed, the lock button on the remote 5x the lights still didnt go out. i opened the car hit the "DOOR" button, then tried locking it again. viola. lights out.

 

We were talking about headlights.

 

i know. when i pressed lock when my door button was OFF. the headlights would not turn off regardless of how many times i pressed the locked key. when i turned it back to ON, the headlights would go off after i pressed it 2x.

Im having a problem with this trick. I have a 2007 IS250 and I tried the top left, etc from the volume screen and nothing happens. Am I missing something?

 

It doesn't work with the V6.1 (2007) DVD Nav disc.
