forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask but I noticed that lexus doesnt have any recommended phones by sprint to pair with the bluetooth setup in the IS or other models. can anyone post CONFIRMED sprint phones that work?

the reason why no sprint phone appears on the confirmed list is because they have not been tested and confirmed to work 100% with the lexus cars. no sprint phone will work 100% with the lexus cars. however, you should be able to make and receive a phone call using your sprint phone and the current bt implementation in the is with the a900, a940, and a920 as well as the ppc-6700 and i think i read the treo 650. there are also a couple of sprint nextel legacy devices that work but you'll have to do a search on those and find member's comments.

I too am looking for a Sprint phone that will work with my Lexus (I have an 05 RX330). So far, no joy. I don't know about the ppc-6700, but the a900, a940, and a920 phones reportedly all have problems maintaining a connection with the car's system and with transferring the phone book to the car. These problems severely limit the functionality of the Lexus system.

According to a couple of the forums (SprintUsers and HowardForums ) there are firmware updates in the offing for at least the a900 that might fix these problems. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I'll wait and see. Until then, I'll continue to live without Bluetooth.

I have the PPC-6700, and I can make/receive calls fine. But I don't think the phonebook transfer works. (haven't tried hard, but "tried" with no luck.)

The bluetooth connection has dropped a couple times, but they seem to be isolated incidents, pretty close to eachother... (and recently). I think it has more to do with the phone itself though... it's just turned off the bluetooth on it's own.

IMO, it's still wonderful and worth it to have the handsfree working, even without 100% functionality.

I'm not a Sprint customer, but I've learned that in order to transfer the phone book to a Lexus or Toyota, the phone needs to support Bluetooth OPP (object push profile). Some phones will use OPP to send the entire directory at once, others will only send one entry at a time, still others don't support the profile at all.

Default Sprint Phone with BT

I have a Sprint/Nextel i870 and it works in my wife's RX, so I am assuming it will work in my IS when it arrives. I'm guessing though that you were looking for a Sprint PCS phone that works.
