Does anyone know if it will be possible to retro-fit a stock IS350 with the base audio system that has Nav to the ML with Nav?
It should be as easy as just changing out the speakers, the amp and the CD changer. The faceplates and Nav should stay the same.
I think that would be a great thing for the dealer to offer to us that had to get the car with out the system since it didn't ship on time.
Has anyone heard?

there was a detailed post a while back about how this would not be feasible. Here is one link . . .

The wiring harness for the Nav and ML is completely different than for a non-nav and non-ML ISs. There is a harness diagram in the service manual that shows where every wiring harness in the car goes. To change out a base system to Nav and ML would require the entire interior removed, including the dashboard. This is because the wiring harness in the dash goes throughout the whole car to the other parts of the system located in the trunk and other areas of the car.

How about this option.
Take your car to Sound in Motion on Brighton Ave (these folks are the real deal).
They will have your car sounding better than that ML set up and probably for less money.
The meaningful (to some folks) thing you won't have is the ability to play DVDs on the Nav screen.

That shouldn't require a new harness since I have nav already? or does it?
