Illuminated scuff plate, install,problem,solution
#181
Hi all, first of all, I am reading this forum since I have bought the Lexus Is220 luxury ( 5 months ago ) and I have decided to create an account.
And...I have a problem. I have picked up my car from a service today ( problems with some scrath and repainted ) and noticed that my Illuminated door plate sill ( logo thresholds ) beneath the door... doesn't turn on anymore. The lights should be blue... There are a problems with the fuse, or may be something else? there is someone who had this problem? If is from the FUSE, what is the name for this ?
Thank you !

After reading this thread, most people can confirm that the 2007 model IS is PnP for the illuminated scuff plates. Can anyone confirm if this is also the case for the 2008 model? I'm thinking of getting the ISP's but would like a nice an easy install.
Much appreciated.

The harness that is missing the wiring is the dash harness, it's not cheap or easy to replace. Best bet would be to run the missing wiring yourself I guess, still quite a bit to take apart to do that (depending on where you tap in), or if you do run the ground side all the way to the ILE1 pin on the body ECU.
That is of course assuming you already have +12V from the 10A Dome fuse at the connector, which I think you would. I believe all cars with the connector have this, they're just missing the white ILE1 wire in the dash harness, as is my understanding.

Not really. There are 20 different part numbers or more, depending on year and options, etc. You wouldn't want to just change the entire dash harness, it might cause other things not to work correctly.
You'd have to do considerable research before coming up with a part number that might work. Your car isn't meant to have illuminated door sills, they are not an accessory part. Lexus is under no obligation to help you get them working. Whether the connector works or not is a non-issue. Your car doesn't use the connector, it doesn't need to work.
Anyone that can plug them in and they work is lucky, that's all.
