I second that. Car covers do nothing but scratch the paint.

Default Lexus car cover for the IS

...Meaning LEXUS brand. Does anyone have one of these? How is the fit? It's supposed to have a clear window so the rear plate can be seen. Does it line up good with the shape of the car?

Can anyone tell me if it's thick and if you have cleaned it, how the fit is after?

Does it protect well enough from dust, UV and does water roll off of it pretty good?

Is there a better car cover out there that is custom fitted?

I don't have one, but if you ask me, stay away from Car covers. Taking them on and off leaves tiny scratches overtime. And they usually trap in particles underneath the cover too, which aids in leaving those scratches when its taken off and put on. I only know a couple people who have used car covers, and got rid of them for this exact reason.

+1 on the cover leavin scratches Not on my current ride, but a past one scratched my car! Really upset. As long as the car is clean when u cover it up I think all should be well.

usually a car cover is ment to store the car for periods of time, if you are frequently removing it its a hassle

i use meguiar's quik detailer before i place the cover (non-lexus) on my car and have been doing so daily for more than a year -- no scratches. the car is washed weekly so as to avoid build-up of the product on the surface and waxed once every season. as long as the car is clean before the cover is put on, you'll be fine.

but about the lexus car cover in particular ... anyone?

I would also stay away from car cover. Over time its going to leave scratches so its not a good investment.

if you're storing your car after you wash it, it's fine. but not for everyday use.

just wash your car once a week or so. or buy some optimum no rinse and mix it in a quick detailer formula.

I have the Lexus one and love it. It fits like a glove and does not scratch the finish (I would know since my car is black). The car cover stays on my car whenever it's in the garage for long periods of time. I have also used it when storing the car outside (i.e., before outdoor shows). It does a good job of blocking UV, which is necessary due to the large amount of Seibon CF on my Lexus.

The material is very thin - much like parachute cloth. It is water resistant, but not water proof. It will keep the dew off, but rainwater will get through.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Default cover

Go to Sewell lexus and get the correct one for your car. Sign up and get your discount. I bought one for my 2010 IS250C two weeks ago and it works and fits great.

Default Car Cover

Tree sap is killing my SP IS250. Everyday it gets worse to the point where I have to park my car outside my yard and I don't feel that its safe outside as it is when its inside. So I find it kind of unjust to pay 242 dollars for a car cover on sewell's site, so I was just seeing if anyone uses an aftermarket brand car cover...What brand, size, and how does it fit your 2is?...oh yeah and where did you get it? THANKS!
