Any headphone jack to headphone jack.

Do not buy those thick big humongous Monster cable, becuase it will not fit with our armrest closed. ; )

it should, you just click the play button on the shuffle and it's just an audio cable to the jack

If you mean in the sense that the nav displays the song info, etc- No it does not.

oh yeah you can do it on bimmer. that's a completely different system where you connect the ipod to the car using the full cable, not just the audio plug

in fact that's what i wish lexus would have put it. what they have now for the new IS? it's not really a real ipod adaptor port imho

No, it's just advertised as an audio auxiliary jack, which is precisely what it is. Acura and BMW have actual iPod connectors in their cars, though neither of them has a very user-friendly interface for navigating the songs, unfortunately.

Get the Ram Din by SIK: http://sik.com/ram_din.php it has direct audio line out capabilities, which will give you better sound quality overall.

I just bought this adapter, which is perfect for what we need. The power plug is low profile, and there is a line out on the dock connector.

I had the Dension IceLink Plus for my BMW and loved it. That's one of the things I was sorry to see go. I could full work the ipod with my stock stereo controls plus the song title, artist, etc would scroll across the screen of the radio. It was great. The way the IS350 is I'm only going to use it on long trips.
I'm sure this will be available for the 2nd Gen IS soon if it isn't already.
