Default Tire sensor compatability

Hey all,

Do you know if the tire sensors are compatible with any other tire sensor system ie SmartTire or the like so that its possible to display the ACTUAL PRESSURE/TEMP of the tires?

thanks

I'm not sure, maybe someone else can chime in. Are you looking to save money or perhaps you already have these sensors?

I really wish the TPMS system is like the one in the Acura RL and TL. It displays the tire pressure for each wheel and the sensors are $40 each instead of $100 each like lexus.

$100 is much better than Nissan/Infiniti sensors, I think they were like $250 ea.

Toyota's system is very basic. Just a "dumb" switch that triggers if the pressure drops. No actual pressure reading is sent to the computer just a "hey dummy check your tire light". Buy the sensors from Toyota for $75/ea. Still not cheap but saves a little. If you buy new sensors write down the seven digit ID number for each sensor. Once they are mounted you are screwed.
