Default S2000 drivers

Sure seems to be a lot of folks who are moving from an S2000 to an IS..or maybe its just seems that way as it applies to me

Nope, keeping mine. Well, technically it's my wife's car. Either way, it's staying. 90k miles, still fun, if not terribly practical. Although she can fit a surprising amount of groceries back there....

I think at least two or three S2000 owners, including heffergm, are keeping their S2000's. Can't blame them for it either.

Cheers,
Kermee

I would have kept mine but my wife only lets me have two cars.

As has been said, the S2000 held a lot of groceries and was surprisingly practical for being an impractical 2 seat convertible.

Mine went to a very good new home in Virginia.

I'm keeping mine, practical or not. Even made it into a fall driver with the hardtop.

Just fall? I drive mine in anything other than snow with the soft top
To be honest though, it's time to trade it in. When the 4-door VW GTi hits the floor in August, I think it'll be new car time for the wife (I confess, I love GTi's).

The S2000 is a wonderful car. Esp. the F20C.

We had a 2001 Silverstone on Red that I sold after a year and 15K miles for $100 less than I paid for it (less tax, license and registration). Of course, dealers were still getting retarded markups back then.

We then bought a 2002 Spay Yellow Pearl on black (I didn't like the Sebring Silver on the car) because I wanted the glass rear window and drove that for another completely trouble free 15K miles before selling it.

It was a third car and a weekend toy for us but I took it to spring training one year in AZ and it was wonderful. Loud, stiff, noisy, etc. but very visceral to drive. And it got great gas mileage with Honda reliability. And frankly it had the best shifter of any car I've ever owned.

I only sold that when my father had a massive stroke and my parents needed some financial help.

The only reason I didn't buy another one was that I didn't much care for the "improved" 2.2L motor so I got a low mileage, used NSX instead.

I hope you guys with the little motors that could regularly exercise these bad boys and redline them like Sochiro intended.

Keep the shiny side up!

I sold my S2k, but it was getting a little heavy on miles. I'll probably pick up another 02 or 03 model in the fall.

For you former S2k drivers on the east coast who may have participated in the Deal's Gap / Dragonball drives, we plan something similar for the Lexus every year that I'd love to have some new IS's attend. Date TBD for this year, but we'll promote it all over this site once its up and running.

I came from 2 S2000's.. a 2000 Silver then a 2001 yellow. S2000 owners are some of the best there are, I still hit their forums dailey to talk about cars.

Traded my '02 for the IS after having it for about 5 months. It was not a good commuter car, but I wish I could have kept it as a weekend warrior just for that 6 speed.

I also sold my 2002 blue suzuka S2000, my wife did not like the go cart ride...

I will maybe get another 2 seater next year.

It was a fun car by the way !
