Besides prayer? Seriously, I'd just keep telling your dealership about it, see if they have any updates. I believe someone had the housing replaced by their dealership with good results, but I don't think there's been a service bulletin yet.

My mirror rattles crazy. It gets so annoying to the point where i don't even want to look at it.

I complained to my dealer about the loose rear view mirror. They ordered a whole new mirror and installed it. It is not as loose, but still vibrates when playing music and going over bumps. Its annoying but I think it has to do with the way the mirror is attached to the car which makes it vibrate.

Default Mirror fix

My mirror used to vibrate like crazy and I hated it. Then a rock hit my windshield. I installed a new PPG windshield ($290) and all rear view mirror vibration stopped.

See that's what I was thinking everyone is thinking it's the mirror but I was thinking it was more the windshield vibrating because the mirror is tight. Has anyone tried having the stereo on and having another person put pressure on the windshield from the outside or inside to see if the vibration stops or at least diminishes? this is with the car sitting still of course.

Default shaker

non-ML nav, no auto wipers. my rearview does shake when i have the music on with bass but it doesn't shake noticeably when im driving unless its a real bumpy road. my old civic did the same thing. but then again it doesn't really bother me or my viewing into the mirror.

How about with your stereo off and sunroof partly open?

If the windshield is the primary problem, and it appears it is. Might Lexus replace?

Also, do you think the stock windshield is simply defective? Or installed improperly?

Lexus OEM windshield is crazy expensive for the IS like $1000 or something. I have been happier with the replacement PPG, but maybe it is not as good in a crash or something - who knows?

i mentioned this in another post but after some searching i found a TSIB regarding this issue. I'm going to ask the dealer for the replacement parts. Hope it helps.
