Not to go off-topic too far for vp911, I almost leased an '06 RL instead of the IS (I know, two completely different cars) just because of the lease incentives of $599/month + taxes on an RL for 39 months and 39K miles...

I'm glad I didn't.

Congrats again vp911!

Cheers,
Kermee

He said it got here today. Since I don't have a ride tomorrow to go to the dealer (and since they close in 40 minutes) my salesperson was kind enough to offer to pick me up on his way to work.

IS350 Blue Onyx/Black interior, lux package with 18" wheels, navi, ML. I paid extra for them to give me the GS300 17" wheels with blizzaks for the snow. I guess I will go back in a few days to pickup the 18" wheels and tires. I called up my tire guy and ordered Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for the G-spiders I ordered from Sewell. I figured I would rather have all seasons becuase I never know when it will snow around here.

Next week I am having a clearbra installed and I ordered the Blinder M-20 - the dealer has a guy who does installations and is going to install it as well as hardwire the valentine 1.

I know the GS wheels are expensive. Do you mind sharing the cost with us. That is an option I too would like to consider for winter as I really like them. I understand they are 18x8, not 18.5 but that is OK for winter. And did they come with the tire sensors?

Thanks

OTOH radar jamming is illegal in nearly all states.

I thought this was funny, after you jam the cop's laser: "Therefore turn off the BLINDER within a few seconds, and nobody will suspect that something is wrong!"

Really? I have heard that the Blinder is excellent. I know at close range none of the laser jammers are nearly as effective. On the TL and RL I had the escort ZR3, perhaps I should go back to that?

Congrats on the car. Can't wait to see that many detailed pics of your IS.
lol. I bought the Canon Digital Rebel the same day I took those pictures. I think it may have just been me enjoying the camera as well as the car at the same time

Yep, somebody else who had totaled their RL is now here with an IS. They may not be the same class cars, but I think it may be the technology that attracts the people to both cars

I don't know how much the 18's were. I bought the 17" wheels from the GS300 and they were $450 for all four. Did not include the TPMS sensors (additional $380 - although people have said you can get them from a toyota dealer as they are the same and cheaper).

They were take-offs (the 17")

Nah. Stick to the Blinder M20. They're better than the ZR3.

Cheers,

Interesting. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and the dealer told me that they put in special orders once a month and today was when the order was actually placed. Dealer told me that the car would go into February Production and then it usually arrives 60 days after it goes into production and should be here the last few weeks of April. I hope it does not come in March because I have a lease on a different car until mid-end May

It's here! It's damn sexy too. I will probably take pictures tomorrow, even though it will be dirty.

Two complaints - as far as the wood - it is already scratched. I am pretty dissapointed in that.

The other is the 17" GS300 wheels they put the snow tires on - the front two wheels have dings in the edge of the rim. Should I ask them to replace them? I mean, it can't be seen by anybody unless you are specifically sitting down next to them and looking, and they are only for the snow tires.

Otherwise, it's damn sexy

I have a V1 and a Blinder. Both work very well, but neither offer complete immunity.
A V1 doesn't provide much protection for instant on radar, and at very close range the Blinder looses effectiveness. That said, IMHO they are both the best electronic countermeasures available and 95+% of the time they are invaluable.
