That said, I do agree that a transfer to a higher institution is a necessity as most CCs do not offer a Bachelor's.

No worries though love. You're not going to make 100K right out of school, but with a good education and dedication, as well as a number of years working for the company, you'll get there.

Programming competitions are great places to make a name for yourself and be recognized by companies. Also, having a resume with projects you have done prepared your junior/senior year for the job fairs is a must. Companies are always looking for young blood, especially in the Computer Programming field.

Best of luck.

I'm sorry I didn't clarify enough. What I originally meant was I'm CURRENTLY attending CGCC (Chandler-Gilbert Community College) and IS GOING to transfer to ASU (Arizona State University) in pursue of a Bachelors in Computer Science / Software Engineer. My overall PLAN is to make 100k in the long run (working with a company for a number of years of course!) with side jobs but of course I, myself, and many of you know realistically; software engineers starting out AT MOST maybe 60k.

I'm being Asian and having Asian parents, my parents wanted to push me towards Pharmacy, but I sucked at Chemistry and didn't liked Chemistry. And I heard horror stories about no life during grad. school. My friend's sister graduated from Michigan University and she flew by grad. school because she was REALLY smart. During her 4th year in grad. school, she needed to volunteer at a hospital. The hospital's volunteer process consisted of 500 applicants, narrowed down to like 20 interviewees and essentially only two candidate. Which she did get into. Being a straight 4.0 GPA student throughout her high school + college (finished her undergrad in 2 years) + grad. school will kind of give you that advantage. Anyways, Obamacare was the last straw and I jumped ship to becoming a computer engineer. I love everything about technology and I spend most of my time on the computer. I haven't touched programming yet but I'm sure I will like it because it seems interesting. I can work with hard ware, (building computers from scratch), etc etc. Basically I'm just tech savvy that is all.
