Hey everyone, I bought my car yesterday and am happy. But at night I noticed that the Illuminated Scuff Plates lights are not illuminated? I read the manual and according to page 201 and 202, the scuff lights are supposed to come on when the doors are opened.

It there a setting to program it to turn on? Or is this supposed to turned on automatically. Or do I need to take it to the dealer?

I got the IS 250 AWD with Navi and Lux package.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is called for.
There are quite a few posts here and in other forums about people installing these themselves and having trouble getting them to illuminate. But if you got these installed with the lux package, then there's something wrong. Have you tried it with the headlights on?

Yes, last night I played with light settings and did test with the headlights on as well as the interior lights on and off – nothing L

Toggle the door light switch (to left of reading/map light). I think I remember someone having a problem like this. When they toggled that push button the scuff lights started illuminating. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem when my car was delivered. As the previous posters have mentioned, you need to make sure that the interior lighting switch is set to turn the big incandescent dome light on when the doors are opened.

Thank you guys, it took a little effort and toggle worked, the light is on, its looks awsome

Do the luminated lights only come with the LUXURY package? I have an IS350 Sport with NAV and ML. My scuff plates look like all aluminum metal finish with no lights. Anyone know?

I assume Sport package does not have this feature. . .
