Default Palm Treo 650/Razr + Bluetooth question

so when i first got my IS i connected my fone without any problems. then all of a sudden one day it would find a connection and then it would disconnect.... i took it to a place and they said that blue tooth pda phones are not the best when trying to use it through a car and that i should probably buy a non pda bluetooth capable fone... has anyone had any this problem? I'm thinking about buying a Razr if this is the case...

Updated firmware should help. I'm guessing you're on Cingular or T-Mobile?

Treo 650's kinda buggy, but firmware updates have fixed most of the issues thus far. I think you should be able to transfer at least some of the phonebook from the Treo using bluetooth, but I'm honestly not entirely sure.

If you're using the Verizon Treo, forget it. They don't have bluetooth file transfer capability.

The RAZR, as stated above, works flawlessly. I'm using a Nokia 8801 right now and I have 0 problems with the phonebook, handsfree, or otherwise.

when I was interested in the m45 people said that the sprint treo 650 when updated worked with that car. apparently nobody on clublexus uses sprint but I will ask anyway, does the sprint treo 650 bluetooth work?

the treo 650 with sprint is quite a different phone than the versions launched by verizon and cingular.

It's not like kensteele knows ANYTHING about Sprint phones for the last... oh 7 years or so...

EDIT: I was working as a supervisor at OfficeMax when Sprint PCS launched. I had a Samsung SCH-1000 for a while and then that Sony CMB-1201SPR (CDMA/AMPS) dual-band phone.

Cheers,
Kermee

hehe, i remember those. for several years in the beginning, sprint was riding high on the cellphone bandwagon, then came all those mergers because they couldn't compete.

i haven't personally tested them all but the next generation of bluetooth phones coming soon will all work pretty well. most of the bt phones from sprint were all said and done long before the IS came out and lexus wasn't at the top of the compatibility list.

while all of them s.b able to make and receive all, the a900 and 6700 works become i have used them and i don't think the signal strength indicator or phone book transfer is going to have much luck.

this is important to me since my sprint agreement ends on 4/24 and I would like to have a functioning power vision phone to pick to remain a sprint customer. when are the next gen phones expected. roughly speaking unless you have specific dates. thanks in advance.
