Default whats the idle on your is250?

aye guys what the idle on your is250's? mines at 500rpm, i think thats a lil low isnt it?

why too low, burning less gas than a higher idle

if the engine isnt stalling theres no big deal, is your AC on, usually higher when you have it on. Theres no such thing as a normal idle, if you can get it lower than everyone else more power to you, burning less gas at the traffic light

i dont think the timing is right. car feels slower than usual

I can't even tell mine is running at idle.....smooth as glass....I have to check the tach just to be sure its on!

Idle is controlled by the ECU. If you believe the idle speed is where it shouldn't be, have a mechanic check it out. As noted above, many things can affect idle speed. 500 RPM's is perfectly fine.

I think someone is new to how well Toyota/Lexus engines are at idle.

well this is my first luxury car, im new to the engines that pur like a kitten. Im to used to the Honda motors SCREAMIN in VTEC..

My 350 sometimes idls at 500 when sitting at a light for extended periods of time. No big deal. Seen this in many cars.
