Default IS350's come out very late at night....

and are very fast and difficult to catch. March begins the breeding season so you will see an increase in sightings by the middle of Summer. The males of course have the brightest plumage.....

I've only seen (2) so far - a Tungsten and a SGM, both 250 AWD's parked at the mall. Haven't seen another 350 yet and havent encountered either on the road.

In my opinion, there are currently no true limited production Japanese cars being sold in the US. And yes, I'm including the NSX, they're really not that difficult to get if you have the $$.
I've only seen a couple since December, and I live in a suburb of Chicago. I guess the reason is obvious. They've only sold about 5 to 10 thousand total IS 2nd gens, and 3 series, etc, have sold hundreds of thousands. Give it some time, in a year or two, they'll be tons of them.

This is a great example of capitalism - low supply + high demand = bigger profit. Particularly when they appeal to a market who can easily afford it and don't mind paying the extra $$$ so they can have it NOW.

they arent doing it on purpose, you have any idea how long it takes to get a factory operational to produce these cars its far from a cakewalk

Exclamation Keep the supply Low PLEASE!!!!

Please Please, Do not demand that they mass produce this car.

The last thing I want to see is this type of car saturated on the market like the BMW 330i.

I would like to have a car that I 'occasional' see on the road. I wouldn’t like to have a car that i 'constantly' see on the road.

The LESS is350's/250's on the Road, the better--FOR me at least

I drive on the free way everyday, and since I have had the car (Nov 05) I can count about 20 IS I have seen all of them 250's, save 1 350. It's nice not seeing everyone driving around in the car you have, makes it a little more special ....

By the way anyone drive the 210West to the 134 in their morning commute? Did you see the truck that went over the onRam? :O

I think they promote a ******load so and keep it in high demand with low supply to keep the price close to the MSRP. And everyone knows that people want what they cant have

I live in NJ. Although I waited 2 days to get my car, I have only seen 3 or 4 people on this board that own that car from NJ, and Ive yet to see one on the road. I like that, esp. in a state with over 7 million people

It's true, here in FL I've seen only 4 or 5 on the road since it's been released, that is very few in my opinion. So is the consensus here too.

If money is not an object then this is not an issue for you. However for most of us, this benefits the dealers not the consumers. Once the dealers know you want to special order the car (which most of us must do because there are none on the lots the way we want the car equipped) then your stuck at their mercy and that includes pricing.

I know exactly how I want my 2007 IS 350 equipped, hoping that 2nd yr production will change but I have a strong feeling my car won't be on the lot so I'll be stuck with a special order even on 2nd yr production.

I am going to say this again
The IS in whatever form IS A MASS PRODUCED CAR.

These are not exotics.

Lexus said 44k a year will be sold and they are on pace for abou 52k this year.

You want exclusivity, your going to have to truly pay for it Or get a Lotus Exige

I dunno man, until recently I was seeing more Ferraris on the road here than IS's...

I'm just messin' around, obivously it's a mass produced car... But it's still very rare in a lot of parts of the country, which I like. I bet Cali is the exception... It seems like 1/2 the 2IS owners on this site are from there.

Agreed. I've been seeing more and more IS's around town, especially in the last few months. Of course, the fact that I live 5 blocks from a Lexus dealership may have something to do with it... That aside, I see one every now and then on the freeway, and that's the way I hope it stays!
