Has anyone seen the Black wood trim in the 06 GS?
I was at my local Lexus Dealer for a console change, and I sat in a GS they had sitting there. It had this Black wood trim that was sweet. Why didnt the IS come with that.
It would have looked awesome in a sports package IS. Next time I head back, I will take some pics

I have seen it.
I respect your opinion but I like wood that looks like wood (and with the blackwood seeing any of the Maple's figuring is a struggle in full daylight).
Instead of the reddish finish we got, I would rather have the light finish from the SC 430.
I am also surprised that real carbon fiber trim was not available for the cars with the sport package.
While we are at it, I would like to get rid of the fake aluminum trim and get some real stuff.

If the black wood was available with black leather (which it isn't, on the GS black wood is with the gray leather), I would have opted for that.
I guess you've never seen ebony wood.

Sorry, I meant to say looks like the species it started out as.
I like ebony and zebrawood and wenge as well.
Birds eye maple is a terrific piece of timber. To me staining it so dark that you can barely see the figuring detracts from the beauty of the natural material.
Jaguar did the black wood thing in the s type r (and I did not care for it there either).

Good. Though, I am saddened about the lack of blackwood. If It were available I Might have upgraded to the premium package.

Had the black wood trim in my CLK430... I loved it
If I wasn't leasing my IS I would prob consider getting the gray finish re-done around where the shifter is to a gloss black with a clear coat... I think that would be the closest the the black trim look. Just my opinion.

There is a guy on ebay selling a Burl wood kit for the IS for $160 shipped. You can request Ash Burl(Black) for the same price. They also have aluminum and carbon fiber.
Damn, I want black wood soo badly. But I dont think the kit will fit the way I want it to. Does anyone know of someone with this kit?
Should I just pull the trigger? $160 isnt much. Though, if I dont like the fit, I doubt I can get much on ebay. I wouldnt install all the pieces, just the parts that come on the OEM wood dash.
