Toyota HQ has registration services now, so one minute after signing the purchase contract, they installed plates. I was suprised! Last car I bought, it took two months for my plates to arrive.
How long did the paper work take at Torrance? My car is there but its not ready...I guess I have a few days to a week until I can fly down there and pick it up. I already have my cashiers check, 4x rolls of painter tape and my iPod ready to go.

And by the way, how long did ur special order take? Mine's coming up on the 2 month mark soon. The waiting game sux!!
Mine took exactly 4 months. The car was part of the first "allocation" of cars, built in September. After delivery, port, US and CA checks, and everything else, it arrived early December.

congrats on finally getting the IS...the color you got would be my first choice as well (special orders rule!). My sis got her Camry from TMS too and getting plates took forever as well.
