I'd opt for the Premium Pkg + aftermarket HID's and forget the Lux or Sports Pkg unless you have money to burn.
they are only 350??

Thanks for the info.

So it will be around 400 shipped.

That sounds about right.

If your exhaust rusts and you installed HIDs, it won't void your warranty. Basically, if they can prove an electrical short was caused by aftermarket HIDs, then yes. Otherwise, they can't void your warranty because you installed aftermarket HIDs, they can just say they won't replace your bulbs if they burn out.

I wonder how the beam pattern is after you install HID on a Non HID projector?

what can you guys with aftermarket HIDs say?

admittingly I know nothing about cars. I have changed headlights before but I'm sure adding HID is more difficult. How difficult is it to buy the kit and do it yourself? I'm pretty sure i could probably do it but I don't necessarily want to go messing with my new $40k car

I've seen threads in this forum with step by steps with photos, but just wanted some laymens opinions

Yes, it's easy to install them. The pics on the thread says it all. When I get my IS, I'm considering mccolluchs 6000k.

Silver250, you have any problems w/ this type of Xenon? How does the 6000k look like? You have any pics? Condensation?

Please compair apples to apples not oranges to apples. Your 350 kit doesnt even come close to compairing your car to a sports or luxury package. Please also add the price of all the other features that come with the packages. Then explain how the warranty works with all the cheap aftermarket parts your retrofiting your car with.

if you're just looking for HID and don't need the other features of the sports or Lux pkg this makes huge sense ($). the warranty discussion in in post #20.

I agree, you’re not only paying for a factory HID system when you get the sport package, there’s more things included in this package. I think aftermarket HID kits can be a headache, I had them on my 01 accord coupe, and it messed up the electrical in that car. Also you’ll never get a true HID beam if you don’t get a true HID projector and there’s no way in hell I’m going to retro fit a HID projector on a nonHID one too much mess. If you are willing to put up with the dealer’s BS about the warranty and possible problems that might come from aftermarket HID kits, like burning your ECU, beam patterns ect.. then get one

Personally I wouldn’t touch a $40thousand car.
