Sport: Aluminum trim, drilled aluminum pedals, aluminum door sills, lower 1/2" on stiffer springs
Lux: Wood trim, illuminated door sills, power rear sunshade.

Me? Sport package.

There is no aluminum trim. Its got the same trim the base has.

Although the sport package does include aluminum pedals and sills

the only thing i like about the sport package is the way it looks
1/2" lower, also the pedals arent bad either, but i'd wayyyyyy rather
have the wood trim..

Sports package for me. Wood trim belongs in a Model-T.

You can buy the illuminated door sills separately and install them yourself.

I ordered the lux package, looks more upscale in the same way BMW or Mercedes uses wood.

No thanks to harsher suspension and more expensive tires on already harsh Boston roads. Lux for me.

The tires should be the same for both sport and lux packages. The trim in the sport package isn't really aluminum. I wonder how much it would cost to put Lexus sport springs and shocks on a lux equipped IS?

true, but as several CL members can attest, it's not a simple plug-and-play mod. Personally I go for the Lux package for the beautiful wood trim and snazzy rear sun shade. I thought about buying the metal pedals and install them myself, but several IS300 owners have commented that the pedals don't look all that great after a few years of wear and tear.

LT Lux has the 18" tires. Sport comes with 18"ers. The LL Lux packages comes with 17" tires.

sport pkg seems like a rip off to me versus the Premium Pkg with 18" wheels for only $2000 which includes:
wood trim
same perforated seats
same heated/cooled seats
same wheels

so for an extra $1700 you get:
same "aluminum" plastic trim as base car
memory system (this IS nice to have)
sport tuned suspension (I think the base suspension looks perfect and rides good)
xenon ($379 xenondepot..yes I know no Bi or AFS no added value to me)
outside electrochromatic mirrors with tilt down (no value to me)
rainsensor (no value to me...RAIN-X for me)
aluminum doorsill scuffplates (looks good)
power tilt-telescopic steering column versus manual
aluminum pedals (nice but no added value to me)

of course lux pkg isn't exactly a bargain either..for $2215 on extra (in addition to the Prem Pkg options) you would get:
Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column vs manual (no added value to me)
Memory System (nice)
Illuminated doorsill scuff plates (nice...but no added value to me)
Power rear-window sunshade (nice but no added value to me)
Rain-sensor (no value to me....RAIN-X user here)
Electrochromic outside mirrors with auto tilt down (no value to me)
xenon ($379 xenondepot..yes I know no Bi or AFS no added value to me)

I just wish you could order the xenon a la carte or they came standard!
