That's a problem. If you've done your breakin mileage, and your driving isn't all inner city, stop-go with heavy acceleration (or if you've got a lead foot and keep it planted in the carpet), then I'd say something is up.

It might be worth disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU and see what happens. Also, as much fun as the onboard trip computers are, I'd suggest calculating the old fashioned way:

Fill up at a pump local to you.
Drive until the car is near empty.
Go back to the same pump and fill up again, then just divide your mileage travelled on that tank by the number of gallons you put back in.

If you're really only getting 16mpg, then with the 17 gallon tank in the IS, you're probably seeing your fuel light come on around 250 miles or so.

I'm not much better 18 MPG. IS250 AWD.
I am not doing heavy city driving and by no means would I consider myself an overly agressive driver in regards to accelerating.

I do a good mix of city/highway driving throughout each tank full.

According to the computer I averaged 23.7mpg and 23.9mpg on my last two fill-ups.

IS350
2,400 miles

City driving: 18.7MPG
Highway driving: 19.2MPG

I don't really push my car that much in the city and it seems that when I give my car more gas I get a little higher MPG in the city... weird.

Avg MPG is for the lifetime to my knowledge.

Mine's at 20.7-ish with predominantly local driving (lots of starts and stops )

IS350 - 25.3 mpg; mostly highway and calculated the "old fashioned" way. The display wasn't too far off at 25.1.

IS 250 RWD 22.5mpg 95% city driving 16mi commute to work.

I just recently reset the AVG Mpg and now I'm getting 24 spirited driving 26 conservative, although my conservative driving is pulling 4 car lengths from a stoplight, LOL.
