Speed and ODO are taken off the front, but not for that reason. You're likely to get more variation due to spinning, etc from the rear wheel.

So if you run on the dyno the speedometer doesnt move?

My 3000 gets its speed of the drive wheels, so I thought it would be the same on all cars. Can anyone who has been on a dyno verify this? I figured the speed sensor was in the transmission somewhere

im sure it will read a speed when you dyno. The speedometer sensors utilize the rpm of the wheel of the car, thats why when people get different wheels they have to get the tire/wheel combo to match as closely to the oem overall diameter as possible so the speedo wont be thrown off.

I think there are 18" all season tires that will fit. This will make the ride much more smoother. But you're in cali, I would personally just stay with the dunlops.

Not on any cars I've had. Do a standing burnout and see the speedo.

If a speed registers on the Dyno, then the speed is not calculated off the front wheels.

Timbo, if the speed is not calculated off the drive wheels, How would a shop be able to test your speedometer accuracy?
