Expensive doesn't always have much to do with it, at least in the sense that wheels that are poorly manufacturered aren't always a whole lot cheaper than well built wheels... mainly because they know there's always going to be someone looking for something cheap(er).

Quality control and the way the wheels are cast/forged are what's important, and I wouldn't put anything on my car that wasn't built by a big name brand company that manufacturers use for some of their own wheels... i.e. Enkei, BBS, etc. I've bent too many POS wheels in my youth to want to bother with that crap anymore.

Sorry? I wasn't planning on buying any new rims, I was just pointing out you get what you pay for. And you certainly don't need to spend $1k/wheel to get quality product.

And for the record, it's been about 15 years since I've curbed a wheel

digital b

Of course you can reuse the sensors.

I run two sets of wheels so I needed (as you mentioned )another $384 worth of sensors.

My G spiders (thanks to Dave for adding the link while I was out shoveling snow) are my winter wheels.

I have not seen one but I believe this is a valve stem with the sensor integrated somehow.

Are ther any pics around of the sensor?

Regarding the any wheel question, I believe some folks have not been able to use them in some multi piece wheels.

Factory Rims: Lexus engineers and design specialists spending countless hours to create a rim specifically to compliment and enhance the visual style of a single vehicle.

Other aftermarket rims: Designed to be put on any kind of car and can be purchased by anyone, meaning that your $45k Lexus can be sharing the same rims as a '98 Honda Civic. No, thanks.

That's not to say that you can't find a great aftermarket rim for the Lexus, but I feel like most simply detract from the car and are put on for their own sake.

Trashing Lexus rims is ridiculous.
