Default Taillight design? Yes? No? Opinions?

The most "unusual" design cue of the IS350/250 is the taillight design. With it's swoops and curves, it is definitely different. I know the dimensionality of it is as much for aerodynamics as for looks, but I'm just not sure I'm sold on it. Oddly, I've never seen it even mentioned on this forum or in any of the reviews I've read.

What do other owners think about this design choice by Lexus?

I love it. They're very distinctive. Although people may compare the shape of the IS taillights to that of the new Camry and even the Hyundai Sonata, the design of the IS taillights are unique. Anybody can make copies of a shape, but the aerodynamic design is what makes it special.

I don't mind the shape of it at all. What I don't like about it is the way it sticks out or bubbles out away from the body. I wish it was flush with the body.

I was about 10-15 car lengths behind an IS250 the other night and I could totally tell that it was a 2IS based on how the tail lights looked when lit up. Very distinctive, especially since that's only the 2nd 2IS I've seen on the road.

Like some others said here, I didn't like it as much in the beginning, but they grew on me too!! I like how they look kinda at night... makes the car distinctive and gives it some character!!!

If you ask me, I think the tail lights are one of the best parts about its design. They look very sharp, especially at night when they are lit up and they pass by you at a high rate of speed.

I think that they go right along with the rest of the lines of the car. I really like the distinctive look myself.

I like the fact that they stick out. It's not overdone, but it's subtle. It's not like every other car out there. However, I do wish they were LEDs.

LEDs are nothing to brag about anymore. Even Scions and Civics have them.

The IS however has other things to brag about...

ok, well no one is confirming that the IS has them.

I don't just believe one poster.
