IS350 warning chime can be a pest
Yesterday some snow melted and dripped over the park assist sensors, covering one with a thick coating of ice.
When I started the car, the nav screen displayed the warning "Lexus park assist, clean sonar sensor" (or something like that). Okay, fine, when I get home I will. Then I set off.
The car then proceeded to pester me about it the whole way home. Every time I slowed to less than about 5 MPH or stopped, it would ding the chime, and the dash would display both the exclamation point and the message "clean sonar sensor". When I sped up, the exclamation point and message would go away. As luck would have it, I was stuck in stop-and-go traffic, so I was treated to this abuse for about 15 minutes non-stop. And you thought the seat belt chime was bad...

yeah i know that warning chime oh so well here also. last sunday morning when the snow started coming down here in jersey i turned the parking assist off since i knew any snow or ice would set it off. funny thing about the park assist being left on is that it would chime at times when its snowing and a large flake would go by it or even when im at a stop light in manhattan and as people walk closely to the car it would chime as well. im thinking of leaving it off unless i know ill be needing it parallel parking in manhattan then i simply put it back on.
also by leaving it off i wont have that green P light on the dash board as well.

Thanks, Joe. For some reason, it didn't occur to me to turn off the park assist. Could have saved myself 15 minutes of aggravation. As Homer would say "DOH!"
