Aftermarket Wheel Owners Post Your Setup
#2224
Ok this is like a really stupid question in this thread where all you guy's have like simply awesome wheels and just talking about 19 or 20 inch wheels.
Can some one tell me if I can just use the same 245 / 45 / R17 that are in the rear upfront also ?
17 inch's because I want the ride to be nice and don't want the rims to bend when I go over pot holes.
I want 245's all round so that it would be helpful in tire rotation and hopefully would look good.
I'm totally new to this , so please don't burn down on me with this stupid question.

You would have no issues doing that unless you are in a 350, then you might have clearance issues with the brake caliper... Post this question in the link below to receive help from dna, he will be much more help.

did you need adapters
This car is hardcore. I love the rims. I went to see about getting the exact same setup on my 2006 IS350. They told me that the modellos won't fit the car unless you use adapters. Did you have to use adapters?

Hi all,
I'm potentially looking at a 'new' approach to my tire/wheel upgrade for my IS250 RWD. Instead of the typical 18/19 or even 20" wheel combos I've seen you all post here, what do you think of keeping it at 17" with the following tire/wheel offset combination:
Front: 225/45/17; 8" wheel - 40mm offset
Rear: 245/45/17; 8" wheel - 20mm offset
I've done some comparisons and the 20mm offset on an 8" wheel will extend out 25mm more than the stock wheel I have now. This will essentially flush my rear wheels/tires to the rear fender which is what I'm looking for from an aesthetic perspective as well as widen the stance obviously for slightly better handling. Also, the slightly larger diameter of the rear wheel/tire setup should also close the gap that I currently have between top of tire and fender by just a tad and provide that 'false sense' of lowered look - I'm stretching here I know. Another bonus to this setup is that it costs much less than going to larger wheels and lower profile tires as well as lasting longer with respect to treadlife thus saving me more money in the end. Yes I am this cheap!
Can anyone poke holes in this setup?

Got my Avant Garde wheels mounted up.

I'm pretty happy with how they look, still deciding if I should lower my car or not. I know most of you will say I should...
