Default Bad News On Wheel Fitment :(

I ordered these wheels,

all four had an offset of 38, although when I test fitted the front wheel it hit against the BBK of the IS350

Therefore it does not fit and they do not make these wheels with a higher offset, beware to anyone interested in this wheel. I loved it because it what black with chrome lip, but I guess everything happens for a reason. I was sort iof confused because I have read of guys here running 19" wheels with 38 offset up front and they fit fine, but i guess it the type of structure/type of wheels since it has several spokes etc, reason to what its touching the front part of the BBK.

So now I need to wait to monday to call the company to find out about returns etc.. blah!!

Sorry to hear, bro. This is the perfect case of disk setup being more important in BBK clearance than offset.

For BBK clearand the shape of the "spoke" is as important as offset. You can have two wheels with the same offset and different spoke shape. One will fit one will not. The 19" may be enough difference to move the curve of the spoke out of the way.

That's exactly right.. My Volk's are a +34 in front which is the highest offset they offer for this particular wheel in what they call their "high type" offset. Their "high-type" offset is made specifically for BBKs. I was originally looking at getting a +40 or +42 (I can't remember which one) but the wheel shop I was working with told me they were "mid-type" offset and would not clear the brakes.

how much clearance do you need? why not run a 3-5mm spacer to get the clearance you need?

I tried several spacers and if werent too big they were too short, there were no perfect ones.

ouch that sucks... it would probably fit a 250 since the calipers are smaller.

This is why it's so important to test fit wheels specially on cars with BBK's. High end wheels like Volk's or HRE's have specifications on some of their wheels that are designed to clear BBK's. Hope you can find something that will fit your ride.

Too bad - that sucks! However I can help you. If you really want a cool rim with the chrome lip and black center, here is your new choice. Visit www.vellanowheels.com for more details.

I have ordered my rims from Vellano and they are about 25 days from finishing their new 19" barrels and they can do multiple types of offsets. These guys build true aircraft grade forged rims in a three-piece. You won't find anythig better made in my opinion.

Hope this helps you:

O M G - THOSE ARE THE WHEELS THAT I WANT!

Sorry for yelling. Man, I hope you can get some that actually fit. They look absolutely fabulous on other vehicles, I'm thinking they would look so haaaawt, on the new IS. Sucks they didn't fit right.

Really? They look pretty nice. I'm not sure of the build quality or anything, but I'm just going on looks (oh, and affordability). If you don't mind me asking, what makes HPs crap wheels; I'm interesting in getting some wheels in the near future, and I wanna make sure I don't make the wrong purchasing decision.

What Non-crap wheels would you suggest? Thanks.
