Bluetooth Phone Question
Can the system alert you if you have incoming text messages? Is this supported at all? I was hoping I can read text messages on the nav screen.

I have another phone question. How can I get the numbers after a "Pause" sent to my phone for commanding my voicemail or other things? The phonebook lets you program them into the number but when you dial it drops them out.

Hey guys, i'm bringing this thread back from the dead,
I have an is350 with nav/ml and when connected to bluetooth with my samsung a900 it works great. My only complaint is that I receive a lot of text messages and the car picks them up as phone calls. It turns off music and the car rings but then it stops and says dropped call. I can read the text on the phone that's fine but it is annoying having a text message stop the music. Is there anyway for the car to distinguish between a phone call and a text message. Or do i have to live with either music cutting out or not using the bluetooth function? Thanks.

Hmm, I wonder if an equal number of people would like to be alerted when they receive a text while driving...
In any case, I don't think the car bluetooth is sophisticated enough to distinguish, but I don't really know much about our BT. I just use it for the most basic functions...

Yea I have thought of the text notification a few times. It would be really nice to just have a little symbol pop up in the upper part of the screen or something to tell me Ive received one or have one unread.

This is what I did to program voice mail additional number (or symbols #, * etc.) and passcode. Once you set up your phone book there should be an additional tab to set up speed number or maybe it's called speed tone. You can program passcode number and such there. I'll check the tonight for the exact tab name, but it's located in the same menu page as your phone book entry. Using it while driving is the same as your speed dial, you just have to wait until the call connects. Not fully automatic but 2 steps, best way I found so far. Hope it helps.

Yes you can the only problem now that I found is that sometimes it sends a constant tone. I don't know if it's my phone or the car tone. I've tried to change the DTMF setting on my phone and even turned it off. It works better with the DTMF setting off but just couple of days ago I got that constant tone again, thus not letting the whole code thru . By the way I'm using a Motorola SLVR with ATT. Anyone out there has any ideas?
