University Federal Credit Union

One trick I learned is locking in the interest rate. The way it worked for my credit union is that once you're pre-approved, the rate is locked for 60 days. Go in before it expires and renew again at the same rate, if rates haven't changed. By doing this, I locked my rate in during Nov., special ordered the car, and paid the original rate when the car arrived in March. The rate is now 5.5%. Not much, but every bit helps
