As I mentioned in another thread, the IS would get stuck in 3rd gear for about 2 minutes sometimes when driving. Some of you said it was normal, but it just seemed very strange.

I decided to drop off the car for service today, I will be out of town for the next week so figured it would be a good time to drop it off for:
1. leaky sunroof in carwash
2. rattles when car is cold, i told him that it really isn't a big deal since they go away once it warms up, but he said it was unacceptable for it to rattle ever.
3. the transmission.

What a great experience. I have never had a dealer tell me something was 'unacceptable' My Acura dealer would tell me to turn up the music or ignore it if ther was a problem.

Definately get those taken care of, and I hope that Lexus provides you with some perks for the inconvenience.

That is sooo unusual for Lexus quality standards!!!

Please let us know what the dealer says about the rattles during cold weather. I think mine is doing the same.
