Option Differences
There are 4 levels of trim on the IS: base, premium, lux and sport. My understanding is as follows:
- Lux has the illuminated scuff plates
- Base and Premium do not have the illuminated scuff plates, but can be plugged in, but require additional wiring, as the ecu isn't "configed" for them
- Sport does not have illuminated scuff plates, but they can be plugged in without any wiring/spicing, ecu is ready for them
- Lux has the illuminated scuff plates
- Base and Premium do not have the illuminated scuff plates, but can be plugged in, but require additional wiring, as the ecu isn't "configed" for them
- Sport does not have illuminated scuff plates, but they can be plugged in without any wiring/spicing, ecu is ready for them
Could someone explain the differences between the above options in terms of memory seats, air conditioned/ heated seats, ML, fold-in mirrors, rear shade, spoilers, rain detector, halogen headlights, moon roof, etc...
I don't live in the states and my Lexus IS300 '07 model has EVRYTHING except the scuff lights and rear fog lights.
We have two options here where I live:
IS 300 high option: ML+nav, rear wing, spoilers, etc...
IS 300 low option: Nothing of the above but with scuff and rear fog lights
Now the thing that's driving me crazy is that I know a guy who has the high option and the scuff lights are installed by default. Lucky him.

I re-read this whole thread and could NOT find out if an 08 base model 250 is plug and play?
Does anyone want to part with their black ,aluminum( non-illuminated ) front skuff plates?

$196 delivered for the white lit from www.lexus-parts.com with promotion code CLUBLEXUS.
About $12 cheaper for the blue lit.

hi there, i own a 2007 ES350.. unfortunately the ES models do not offer illuminated door sills, is there a possibility of buying an IS or GS's illuminated door sill and putting it on my car? a quick retro fit if they dont fit properly? and if so, how would i got about wiring them.

Just to clean up a few unanswered questions since someone brought the thread back to life-
06 sports only is plug n play
07-08 they're all plug n play
For 08 at least the sports models should come with illuminated plates standard as well, I believe 06-07 was the metal ones. At least some 08 sports came with the metal ones too, but Lexus'll give you free illumnated ones if you point out their error.
There are no rear illuminated sills, front only.
Pics of the white ones are in a couple of threads, including the fairly recent one by Joe Z on his install... a search should turn these up
For the ES350- I kind of doubt they'd fit as it's an entirely different vehicle platform... but if you could make the plate physically fit I imagine you could wire it in a similar way to how the 06 non-sports folks wire their assuming you get a wiring diagram to see what the comparable wire(s) would be.
