Sports Packaged IS350's do not come with the illuminated scuff plates.

Actually thats what I meant. Those prices are our GB price. We never really stopped selling them, its just that most members decided to wait untill there was a fix or a better install method found. Lexus list is 136.00 each front and 80.00 each rear. We still sell them for 109.00 front and 64.00 rear. We dont list them on our site, but you can call Gordon or myself directly anytime.

I just have the stock IS350 (no luxury or sports package, but with non-ML Nav), so this mod should work on any 2nd Gen IS, as most of the wiring harnesses for all models should be the same for all 2nd Gen models as this allows reduced parts inventory = less cost for Lexus.
However, to make sure, just pop off the stock scuff plate and look for the white, squarish connector you see on page 1 of this thread. (The large photo that shows it connected to the ISP with a blue wire.) Yours should be taped in place with nothing plugged into it.
Next, as long as you have a door-triggered light switch located on the door pillar between the front and rear doors (see photo on page 1 where a finger is pushing the switch), your take off point for the ground jumper wire is present.
If you see these two things, you should be good to go.

The $109 is for one ISP, since you need a left + right, total for the front is $218.
I didn't change out the rear scuffs since the replacements are not illuminated.

Just finished my install tonight with no problems. I decided to go with wire connectors to connect the jumper wire & the gray wire from the I.S.P. for easy removal if needed. Just over 1 hr start to finish your instructions and pics are awsome. Thanks again for sharing

I was asked about how to remove the black plastic panel, so I thought maybe I should share it in case others were uncertain about how to do it.
First, move the front seat as far forward as it will move. Next, remove the scuff plate. The manual shows placing tape on the frame to avoid scratching it and then using a plastic moulding removal tool, or a taped screw driver. I just grabbed it with my fingers and pulled upwards. There are 4 clips holding the plate to the frame.
Then, go sit in the rear seat area and grasp the black panel near the top on either edge. You need to gently push the rubber seal away from the panel to get access to the very edge. (You do not need to remove the rubber seals.) Pull the black plastic panel briskly towards you. There are several clips which release without much work.
The bottom rear edge of the black panel tucks under the front edge of the rear scuff plate. It might be easier to remove the rear scuff plate while working on the black panel (but it isn't absolutely necessary to do this).
To re-install, reverse the above process, making sure you over-ride the plastic edge with the rubber seal.

how about this for a fast install. i ordered a luxery sgm 350 (black illuminated sill plates) and got a hybrid with the sports package (non-illuminated aluminum sill plates) and got illuminated aluminum door plates and didn't even ask for em. sweet!

PERFORMING ANY WIRING MODIFICATIONS. Just plugged
them into the connector and they dim on and off when I
open and close the doors.
I have a special ordered sport package 350 that I picked up
at the beginning of April. As I recall, someone else was also
able to just plug and play without modifications. I believe they
stated that their IS was an early build last fall.
Sorry , but I couldn't locate the tread in which people were talking
about this other CL member that had the same experience as I did,
not requiring a wiring modification.

Thanks Tuxlex, my ISP's are probably sitting on my doorstep as we speak while I'm at work anxious to go home. I'll make sure to just try plugging them in as that would be a smart thing to do first. haha I'll keep the fingers crossed.
