Default Question for those with aftermarket HID on their IS'

Do you guys have any problems with the computer thinking you have a burnt halogen bulb and throwing an error everytime you turn 'em on?

Also, all the kits come with gromments for the cover or you need to request them... I'm thinking on the kits from Xenon Depot 6000K... the ones with the super slim Philips ballasts/ignitors. Do you think that you could fit everything inside the casing?

Thanks for your help, I did a search and read the Light's FAQ with no success...

regards,

Joel Pirela

No problems with my Philips HIDs.... only weird thing was after the install my CEL came on and the VSC light came on. I turned the car off and asked the person who installed it and he said it was normal because he took off the intake or something. I turned the car on again and the lights went away. I think that's about it. As for the rubber gromets... mine didn't come with it but the shop used this rubber compound seal tape to seal it and no condensation so far.

if you get the slim ballasts, that means there will be a separate ignitor as well correct?

i think is a 2 unit deal....

it will be ideal to have all the power feeding from inside the headlamp casing and being able to stick the slim ballast inside the casing...

i have a xenon depot kit and i have never gotten any lights coming on after i installed the kit. the kit from xenon depot does come with rubber grommets and there is not enough room inside the casing for the ballast.

Get the Ballast w/ integrated ignitor. It will saved u some installation time and spaces. I think some member used MTEC kit. you may find some pics in other forum.
