As strange as it may sound to some CL members here, I'm going to have to side with TimboIS here. eddiec clearly stated he was going to "cut the line" (READ: antenna lead) from the shark-fin antenna and use 3M tape as an adhesive to stick it on top of the vehicle, basically making the unit non-functional.

TimboIS NEVER claimed the shark-fin was a non-functioning antenna. He was just replying to the fact that it was a stupid idea just to cut the antenna lead and tape it to the top of your car to make it look "cool". You need to look back at TimboIS's reply and actually READ the quote-block above it to see what the context of his reply was. Obviously, you completely missed the context.

As much as I know some members want to hate TimboIS because his replies might be rude and blunt, he's rarely if at all, wrong.
