Default My IS350 Finally Arrived!

Finally picked up my car on Monday. Carried my silver Supra to AAP in Atlanta on Friday, 02/24 to drop it off for more performance upgrades (hoping for more than the 720rwhp it currently has). While there I got a call from Lexus that my IS350 had just arrived. Some accessories haven't caught up, yet, it seems. I don't have my HKS exhaust and my front chin spoiler and rear spoiler just came this past Friday. The dealer is installing them for me on Tuesday. I could install them myself, but hey.... they owe me the installation. Besides, if they make a careless mistake it's on them, right

John at CCW is sending me an SP16A rim (19x10 +44 275 rear) at no charge for fitment testing. The IS350 can just about accommodate the same size and offsets as a Supra, with some slight offset tweaking! I actually removed the rims from my silver Supra (VOLK SF Challenges) and tried them on the IS. The rear fit perfectly (18x10 +44 ) with the exception of my 295 tire on that rim The front was a little too wide, but only because of the offset (18x9 +38 ). I suspect that an 8.5 rim with a +44 offset should work perfectly.

Anyway, if the rim that CCW sends fits OK, they'll send me the other 3 rims. If not, John wants me to take some specific measurements. This way he can build a set of rims that gives me the most aggressive stance/rearl lip/look for the car.

Below are some pics... ending with a PS of the car with my VOLK SF's copied from a pic of the my Supra. I Photochopped because I wanted to see it lowered. Why I didn't take picsof it when I had the rims on.... I couldn't tell yeah

Supra:

IS350 Photochopped:

I already installed the LMS Intake (NICE, DEEP growl). Eibach springs (1", not the 1.4") are on the way.

for 19x8.5" people use around +34 offset for the fronts with 235/35/19. yea offset is too high in the back around +40 is good. There is a guy that used Volk SF Challenges in this wheel size, tire sizes, and offset and it looks much better. Not sure on the offset needed for a 19x9" front wheel, no one has tried it yet only 19x8.5" 235/35/19 is closest to stock diameter for fronts

The color is awesome! Now give yourself time to read up the manual and figure out how to use all the features in your car.

Nah. I photochopped the drop as well

STIG:
Thanks!

emissivity:
I purposely left some features off of the IS (i.e. the HID's, heated/ventilated seats, etc.) because I have an '06 GS with all of the above. Having mentioned that, having the GS means I already know all of the IS features When it comes to NAVI and all, the GS and IS are virtually identical with the exception that the IS's NAVI is newer and more featured than the GS.

jakb:
As for the 17" rims, IS350 comes with 18" option and 255 rear tires where the 17" comes with 245 rear tires.

Kamikaze2b:
Thanks for the Supra comment! I have two (a red and a silver). One is stock twins and used for daily driving. You can see it parked on the street in one of the IS350 pics.

IS_250:
I ordered them online at hopupracing.com. I haven't heard anything stating that they weren't actually available yet. I hope that isn't the case.... I need to drop a little so that the photochop can come to fruition.

redcell:
Yeah... that's a SAT antenna. I hate the way Toyota places the antenna on their SAT equipped cars. I plan on moving it to the inside on top of the 3rd brake light cover. Hope reception is OK there. I have the antenna inside in my silver Supra and it works fine.

Hey.

19x8.5 +34 and 19x9.5 +40 is considered "mild" Supra fitment. You can order this setup from MVP Motorsports as far as Volk SF Challenges are concerned. The issue that I have with the 19x9.5 +40 is that you only get a 56mm lip (2.2 inch). This is why I most likely will not use SF's on the car. 19x10 with at least a +44 offset and mid-type caliper clearance (not high type) will get you about 81mm lip (3.2 inch). SF's, of course, don't come 19x10, only 19x10.5, so you'd have to go down to an 18x10 +48 offset for a 75mm lip.

I like the CCW SP16A:

...and John can custom make the offset, size, and caliper clearances for the maximum in aggressive looks
