buy what you want. I certainly wouldn't let someone else make a 35-45k dollar purchase decision for me.
If you want the IS, get it. If you want to wait for something else to come out, wait.

Really if you're gonna buy soon.... buy the IS... there is no doubt in my mind that the IS350 is the best car in this price range right now. I flip flop all the time between the IS, TL, 330, and G35 but in the end the IS always comes out on top once I consider the pros and cons of each vehicle (price, reliability, ride, value, build quality etc). IMHO there is really no use waiting to see if something better is gonna come out.... it will become the longest waiting game you will ever play in your life because something better will always come out (new g35, 3 series coupe, IS coupe, and beyond). So like I said if your ready to pull the trigger and drop this much cash on a new car now, go all in on the IS... but that's just my opinion you need to check yourself and make sure this car meets your needs...

Yea IS350 the best right now. 2nd probley the 3 series. That was my 2nd choice. But the IS has better interior, slightly cheaper then the 3 fully loaded (like i got my IS) and the IS has alot more power. Get the IS.

Motorwise....350 hands down. Handling.....330i.
Strap a 350 motor in the E90's chassis......perfect!
I just off loaded my 330i and my 350 will be here this week. My only complaint really with the 350 was VDIM and it's lack of a button, or non complex way of turing it off for some good ol boy fun with the car. When I test drove, it was slightly intrusive. I'm sure that when I really drive it, it will **** me off.

Why on earth would you auto a Bimmer? What a waste of a car. Too bad L doesnt have more manual IS models. Ugh. True drivers get the shaft.

Choosing a car is a very personal decision. For my desires and needs, the IS350 presented the best balance of performance, luxury, style, comfort, size, sportiness, expected reliability, etc. in the price range. (Really, for me, it was the best combination of those factors in any price range. Happily it was in the range I was looking at.) As the sticker says, your mileage may vary.
In my view, here were the biggest strikes against the other cars in the running:
BMW 3 series--Exterior styling of new 3-series is hideous; interior lame vs. Lexus; reliability concerns; BMW's far too common on the roads/parking lots
Mercedes C class--Reliability concerns; bland exterior styling
Audi 4--Reliability concerns
Infinity G35 sedan--Dislike exterior styling; interior inferior to Lexus; all-new '07 version will make an '06 look old
Acura TL--FWD only; kinda big
When I considered these things--highly important to me--only the IS was left standing. Again, YMMV.
