The large oil qualtity would also allow for more cooling, the sump pan is also well baffled to reduce foaming and prevent oil starvation in high gforce cornering. The next upgrade would be dry sump.

yea times change, engines run cleaner, my 6 year old car i can run to about 4500 miles without a oil change, even the IS manual schedule intervals are twice a year, each doing an oil change at 7500 miles. Whenever I get my IS I plan to do synthetic for 7500 miles. I dont feel confident in conventional lasting long in texas conditions. If you still want to change at 3k-4k be my guest, but even manafacturers are saying thats too much according to their owners manuals
