Default Paint is peeling off my baby..!

I don't know if this is happening to anyone else..but paint is peeling off my 13 day old 350!

there are 3 cases of this happening..two on my hood and one on my front bumper, on the bumper it looks like a piece of dust was under the paint and just popped off and took the paint with it. lexus told me to take it in monday..

That sucks, hopefully the dealer will resolve the problems without any headaches.

There definitely looks like there's some foreign material there. Do you have any closeups of the other areas?

Yup. It does look like that. When the car comes in it covered in a thin plastic film. You can see better then us but sure its not anything to do with that?

peel it!
peel it!
peel it!

we're all hoping it's just the plastic wrap used to protect the car while in transport.
I can see how it would be confusing to all of us since your ride looks like it's GFM.

Good luck!

are they still asking for MSRP, last time i checked at Sterling McCall was way back in xmas. Who was your salesman. I really like the chinese dude there Martin Ma, he actually talked to me when all other lexus salesmen ignored me

to me the the picture still looks like its a piece of the white prepping protective plastic they put on the car as they are transporting it, maybe a small piece was left behind, but only you can tell

yep..they asked for MSRP..but it's ok it was a gift

my saleswoman was joyce..she's a friend of a friend so that's why we dealt with her

as far as it being a piece of protective plastic..i don't think that's what it is..the piece that is peeling off has pearl in it and what is being left behind is just plain white..but what do i know, we'll see what the dealership tells me when they see it in person

well, it was a 50-50 shot. it's hard to tell in standalone pics.

did you try feeling the texture of the peel? does it feel like paint?
is the sheet metal exposed underneath the peel?

ah, upon closer examination of your pic, i can see what you are talking about with the flat white underneath.

hope everything works out at the dealership...

Keep us informed on your ordeal. This is not typical Lexus quality. Hopefully, all goes well.

Congrats on your car. Although the paint is peeling, I hope you're enjoying everything else about the car.
