Default HD Radio, stock integration?

Do you think we're going to see stock integration of HD Radio?

I'll reserve judgement until we see whether HD radio catches on. At the moment, there are very few people who even know what it is.

I say it will. Hd tv is even haveing a hard time getting started but its moving slowly. And in a short itme it will all be HD. Same with radio. Its free. Cars will slowly start haveing the Hd built in and the rests free from there. Better then sat. Which you have to pay monthly.

I think you'll find that most people subscribe to satellite radio for the variety of programming, not simply because it's digital. HD radio may have the technical capability to bring that kind of variety, but since the stations are still owned by the same conglomerates that ruined analog radio, diverse and interesting programming is hardly assured.

blah blah about the same conglomerates, clearchannel is putting advertising on select stations on XM, and I'd imagin with sirius not being too far behind...

you'll see the same sort of thing happen very shortly, you'll have the same commercials, just wait, just now you're paying to listen to those nice commercials.

HD radio is catching on here in Los Angeles, just hoping the auto manufacturers will release a firmware upgrade or addon device that will allow it to stock integrate with our vehicles...
